The Thornville Police Department showed off the department's police gear at the Strawberry Hill Daycare and made some new friends. Students at Strawberry Hill enjoyed learning about the local police department and how they can help keep Thornville safe. The children enjoyed an opportunity to see and touch the police department's cruiser and learn about other police equipment.


 

Perry County Chiefs Meeting

(left) Thornville Police Department attended a Perry County Chief's meeting on July 8, 2008. Senator Sherrod Brown's assistant spoke at the meeting regarding helping the Perry County law enforcement agencies receive federal funding for law enforcement as well as federal help to bring commerce/industry to our villages to provide a stable tax income. 

 

 


FOP's Newest Members- Somerset Police Chief Jeremy Vandermark and Thornville Police Chief Nick Garver

 

(right) On Tuesday, July 8, 2008, FOP Lodge 50 Perry County Representative and Executive Board Member Amy Nash English welcomed Perry County's newest members; Somerset Police Chief Jeremy Vandermark and Thornville Police Chief Nick Garver.

 

"FOP Forest Rose Lodge 50 is a fraternal organization with among many purposes is to promote and foster the social, charitable, and educational activities among law enforcement officers.  The newest memberships of Chief Vandermark and Chief Garver are indicative of the commitment that Perry County Law Enforcement Officers have in order to work together as a cohesive law enforcement community."

Police in 4th of July Parade

 

The Thornville Police Department lead the July 4, 2008 parade through town with Mayor Beth Patrick. Throughout the day, the Thornville Police Department provided both traffic and safety control to ensure everyone enjoyed a safe holiday.


 

Flood of Traffic

The flood waters on June 27, 2008 that shut down Interstate 70 in both the East and West bound directions sent a flood of vehicles through the center of Thornville. Traffic kept moving smoothly thanks to Thornville Police Department's Chief Nick Garver.
